Words That Move: Mohammad Tabrizian’s Mission to Build a Speaking Culture Across Borders

For Mohammad Tabrizian, words aren’t just tools—they’re catalysts. They can heal, inspire, challenge, and transform. And through his work as a speaker, educator, and cultural bridge-builder, he’s on a mission to cultivate a global “Speaking Culture”—one that values expression as much as intellect, and story as much as strategy.

“In many places, especially in classrooms and community spaces, we’re taught what to think, but rarely how to say it,” says Mohammad. “That gap is where confidence disappears—and where voices go unheard.”

Born and raised between the UAE and the UK, Mohammad’s life has been shaped by the interplay of languages, identities, and silences. Fluent in English, Arabic, and Farsi, he found early on that words have different weights depending on the room—and the speaker.

That early awareness evolved into academic curiosity. He studied Communication at the University of Sharjah, focusing on how speech affects youth engagement in the Gulf. He later earned a Master’s in Public Speaking & Professional Communication from the University of Leeds, where he explored rhetorical techniques across cultures—from British Parliament to the TEDx stage.

But his journey didn’t stop at theory. Between 2016 and 2019, Mohammad worked as a motivational speaker with the UAE Ministry of Youth Affairs, leading workshops that focused on leadership, storytelling, and emotional resilience. He met students from vastly different backgrounds—but with a shared challenge: the fear of being misunderstood.

“Many had something to say,” he remembers, “but no idea where to begin.”

This realization led to the founding of Eloquence Academy in London—an institute dedicated to public speaking, storytelling, and cultural communication. With students ranging from schoolchildren to CEOs, the academy offers tailored coaching, immersive workshops, and its flagship event: the Voices of Tomorrow summit, held annually in both London and Dubai.

But what sets Mohammad apart isn’t just his technique—it’s his purpose. His approach centers not only on articulation, but on authenticity, urging speakers to lead with story, vulnerability, and connection.

“Speaking isn’t about perfection,” he says. “It’s about permission—the permission to show up as yourself, with your accent, your background, your truth.”

As a visiting lecturer at the University of Birmingham and Zayed University, Mohammad brings this philosophy into academic spaces, encouraging students to rethink how they express ideas—not just what they say, but how they make others feel. He blends rhetorical theory with performance practice, often integrating poetry, body language training, and even cultural metaphors to deepen impact.

Outside the classroom, his work continues through his podcast Voices Beyond Borders, where he interviews guests from around the world about identity, expression, and the power of speech. The conversations are intimate, often centered on personal turning points and moments of voice-finding.

He’s also the author of three books—The Voice Within, Stage Whisper, and Bridging the Gulf—each reflecting a different layer of his mission. Whether it’s overcoming fear, mastering silence, or navigating cross-cultural dialogue, his writing echoes the same truth his speaking delivers: that speech is an act of courage.

Through all of this, Mohammad Tabrizian’s vision remains clear—to create a culture where speaking is more than a performance. It’s a practice. A right. A shared human experience.

Because in a world that’s often too loud with noise and too quiet with truth, his work reminds us that when we dare to speak—not just loud, but real—we don’t just change minds.

We move hearts.
